The first 15 houses in phase 1 are progressing well and bricklayers are at 1st floor for half of those properties. These properties will be individually valued so that prices can be established for release to market and reservations to be taken for these plots in late Spring, for occupation from late Autumn.

The name 'Levenshulme' is derived from a possessive version of a person's name "Leofwine's" and "holm", a Viking term meaning island (usually in a lake or river).
Legend has it that Dick Turpin often visited the Blue Bell Inn on Barlow Road. The current pub was built after the previous Blue Bell Inn was destroyed during the Second World War. There has been an Inn on this site for 700 years.
